Char Dham refers to a sacred pilgrimage circuit in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is composed of four Hindu pilgrimage sites are situated in the Himalayas. The term "Char Dham" translates to "Four Abodes" and represents the four significant pilgrimage destinations that devotees aspire to visit in their lifetime. These four pilgrimage sites are considered highly sacred and are believed to provide spiritual enlightenment and liberation to devotees.

Every year, millions of pilgrims undertake the Char Dham Yatra (pilgrimage) to seek blessings and attain spiritual bliss by visiting all four temples in sequence. The yatra usually takes place from April/May to October/November, depending on the weather conditions.
